Sessions Description

  • This panel offers a rich exploration of the crucial role that the rule of law plays in legal education and the broader legal profession through comparative perspectives. By examining diverse interpretations, evolving educational standards, and global insights, we aim to deepen our understanding and enhance the rule of law's impact on legal education and practice. Panelists will delve into (i) strategies to integrate the rule of law into law school curricula, drawing on global perspectives to emphasize justice's foundational role; (ii) the intersection of the ABA’s standards on professional identity formation and the development of antiracism and cross-cultural competencies with the obligation to uphold the rule of law; and (iii) the contributions of human rights law professors and lawyers in advancing the global rule of law, while navigating both challenges and opportunities on national and international stages.
