Sessions Description

  • The panel explores the shifting balance of power between federal courts and the executive branch in light of the current administration's resistance to judicial oversight. It touches on a variety of subjects that lie at the heart of heated, ongoing disagreements about our constitutional order. Among other topics, panelists will discuss the judiciary’s role in limiting executive power, the standards and proper consequences for finding executive officials in contempt of judicial orders, and the administration's frequent use of emergency appeals to the Supreme Court. Panelists will also offer tips on how to address these topics in a forthright yet nonpartisan manner in the classroom.
