    Economic Development in Africa

Economic development — a broad term referring to a variety of indicators such as poverty rates, life expectancy, and literacy rates — is essential to the development of Africa. This program will focus on a range of economic development strategies in Africa with an emphasis on poverty alleviation. Particular focus will be placed on current laws impacting economic development in Africa and on the intersection of economic development and peace and security. The program will also examine the roles that law professors, lawyers and law students can play in fostering economic development in the region. Additional speakers to be announced.
