Post-Mortem: Legal Issues in the 2008 Presidential Election

Although the 2008 election proceeded more smoothly than many had feared, it raised a number of issues deserving additional attention.  These issues include the impact of early voting; the appropriate use of management of voter registraton lists; the changing role of public financing of elections; developments in voting technology; and the lessons to be learned from the disputed Minnesota Senate race, to name only a few.  This panel will allow for a wide-ranging discussion of these and other election law topics that remain as pertinent as ever in light of our most recent national election.
