Sessions Description

  • To mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the Section on Legal History will consider the document’s historical meaning and contemporary relevance. Panelists will discuss issues relating to the document’s text and authorship; the connection between the Declaration’s complaints about the termination of North Carolina’s courts and modern doctrines of personal jurisdiction; and the Declaration’s treatment of immigration.
