Sessions Description

  • The number of law schools offering non-JD programs has increased dramatically over the past decade. The scope and variety of programs continue to evolve while maintaining the dominance of the traditional LLM model. The impact of these programs on law schools has been tremendous, from the easily quantifiable revenue generating aspect to the more nuanced enrichment and cross fertilization of the academic and professional ecosystem. Excellence drives the magnitude of such impact. Peak performing programs have international students inspire and inform faculty research and scholarship, offer mixed JD-LLM classrooms that cultivate rich discussion triggered by geographically and culturally diverse viewpoints, and create structured, intentional interactions that cultivate cross cultural growth and mastery. The session will discuss how we achieve these hallmarks of excellence. Lastly, LLM programs proved tremendously resilient through world financial meltdowns, global pandemic, and geopolitical tensions - how do they confront current and future challenges?
