Sessions Description

  • In legal education, the pursuit of community and belonging has evolved far beyond student affinity groups and diversity programming. Law schools today are reexamining how every aspect of the academic and professional experience—from admissions and classroom dynamics to mentoring and career development—shapes students’ sense of inclusion and connection. This panel will explore how the work of building belonging has changed over time, what it looks like in practice today, and how law schools can continue to foster environments where all students, faculty, and staff feel valued and empowered. Panelists will discuss the structural and cultural shifts required to sustain this work, the challenges of addressing inequities in a hierarchical profession, and the opportunities to reimagine legal education as a truly inclusive community of learning and leadership.
