Sessions Information

  • January 7, 2010
    8:15 am - 5:30 pm
    Session Type: Section Field Trips
    Session Capacity: 53
    Location: N/A
    Room: Side Driveway
Floor: 2nd set of glass doors, First floor

The Field Trip will include a guided tour of swamplands at the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, an examination of green development in the Lower Ninth Ward, and a tour of a proposed urban wetlands restoration site at Bayou Bienvenue.  Guests will enjoy a sit-down Cajun lunch near the banks of a local bayou.

The bus will depart at 8:30 am from the Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel, at the side driveway of the hotel at the second set of glass entrance doors (right past the gift shop).

A quick note on attire. Please wear comfortable shoes for walking, as well as a warm jacket. While we can not be sure what the weather will be like, we can expect it to be somewhere in the 40-50s around this time of year with humidity, and that makes it a little cool.

(Tickets were sold in advance of the Annual Meeting.  If space is available, a ticket may be purchased at On-Site Registration until 9:00 pm on Wednesday, January 6 or at the bus departure point on Thursday, January 7.
