Sessions Description

  • Law School Graduate programs beyond the JD have long been a key contributor to their schools’ success. This session will highlight the multitude of ways in which these programs continue to expand the reach of excellence and impact of their schools, from curricular and programmatic innovations to school-wide opportunities made possible by robust finances, to students and alumni diversifying the legal community and taking leadership positions all over the world. Sustaining excellence is not without challenges, these days more than ever, with much uncertainty around the ability of international students to join our programs or maintain status while in the U.S., with the increasing cost of U.S. post graduate legal education, and with schools having to recalibrate offerings and strategic areas of investment in light of federal and state mandates. Post graduate programs are enlisting their agility and entrepreneurial spirit to not only be intentional in how we adapt in the face of these challenges, but to identify even more opportunities for growth and innovation. Panelists will share from their experience and perspective on the strength, challenges and opportunities for graduate legal programs beyond the JD.
