Under ABA Standard 301 (a) “A law school shall ensure that all students have reasonably comparable opportunities to take advantage of the school’s educational program, co-curricular programs, and other educational benefits.” Most law schools have interpreted this standard to mean that their part-time programs must provide education in the same or similar formats and under the same or similar conditions as they do for their full-time students who do not balance the same outside concerns as their part-time colleagues. This program examines whether and how law schools can move beyond that premise to effectively reach a wider audience of potential students who would not be able to attend law school without significant changes to the current curricular models.
