Working Together: How Advancement and CLE at Law Schools Can Cooperate To Raise Funds, Friends and Reputation
Too frequently, law school departments are so busy with their own missions they neglect creating cooperative working arrangements to benefit multiple departments. They unintentionally create silos or barriers that make joint programs or activities difficult to plan and execute. However, a number of law schools have achieved real success stories when their advancement and continuing legal education departments have cooperated to implement events benefiting the law school. These events raise dollars, help with law school branding, get alumni re-energized about their alma mater and can lead to new revenue streams.
At this program, you will learn new lessons about cooperative programming from the perspective of the law school Dean, the head of Development and Alumni Affairs and the director of the Continuing Legal Education department. You will head back to your school with practical advice about how you too can create successful joint programs that benefit your school, your alumni, your donors, your students, and the all-encompassing friends of your law school.
