Sessions Description
-
Law schools are grappling with how to address GenAI's rapid integration into legal education and practice. Many faculty express concerns about risks including plagiarism, research inaccuracies, and impacts on student learning, yet institutions often lack clear direction for moving beyond these concerns toward productive implementation. That said, what are the best uses of GenAI, and how should schools incorporate it? Learn about use cases for GenAI in legal education and what is happening at other law schools. Such uses may range from developing essential AI literacy skills across the curriculum, to automating administrative workflows and supporting law school operations, to transforming doctrinal and skills-based instruction, enhancing legal writing support, and enriching moot court and trial advocacy preparation. This session convenes a cross-disciplinary panel of librarians, technologists, and faculty who have successfully integrated GenAI into their workflows and various aspects of their curriculum at their own institutions. Through short lightning talks and guided, hands on collaboration, participants will leave with practical examples, vetted tools, and an actionable roadmap they can adapt immediately. The conversation explicitly surfaces ethical guardrails—ABA Model Rule 1.1 tech competence, academic integrity policies, and privacy considerations—ensuring that innovation is balanced with professional responsibility.
