A substantial and growing segment of the U.S. labor market is composed of low wage work, and that trend is likely to continue as capital seeks out low wage labor markets around the globe and US labor markets find new supplies of low-wage workers.  Two scholars who have done substantial empirical work on low wage workers and the market pressures confronted by employers in low-wage sectors of the economy will discuss innovative organizing efforts and creative strategies to address the under-enforcement of law in low wage workplaces.
