Our physical communities provide clinicians and clinic students with the tools to serve the primary goals of clinical education – namely, providing legal assistance to individuals in need and experiential education to students. But we should view our schools’ settings as more than a means to an end. Rather, we must envision how law schools, and clinics in particular, can seamlessly add value to their communities in a collaborative and participatory manner. This in turn raises questions about how to demystify the law school setting to its neighbors and to welcome the community within the walls.
