    The field trip will tour selected sites in the San Francisco Bay-Delta.  Speakers will address the Delta’s precarious environmental conditions, tensions between water quality and water supply demands, and legislative and judicial efforts to respond.  They will also address the land use challenges posed by development below sea level and the aging levees intended to protect it.  The tour will include stops along the Delta, at critical water supply junctures, at historic river towns, and at a Nature Conservancy project intended to model sustainable land use options.

     

    The bus will depart from the Taylor Street exit, lobby level, Hilton San Francisco. The bus will begin loading at 8:00 am, with a prompt departure at 8:30 am.

     

    (Tickets were sold in advance of the Annual Meeting. If space is available, a ticket may be purchased at the On-Site Registration Desk until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 5.  If there are no shows, tickets may be purchased at the bus departure point the morning of Thursday, January 6.)
