The ability to have one’s voice represented in civil legal discourse and to access systems of justice is essential to a working democracy. In the United States, civil legal justice simply is not attainable for most people. Identifying the monopoly of lawyers and reimagining new ways to address access to justice issues is vital to addressing this problem. With the growth of undergraduate legal programs, new horizons open. Clinical programs collaborating with undergraduate programs offer unique opportunities to address decades old problems.
