Sessions Description

  • Law scholars are deeply concerned about the second Trump administration's impact on the international legal order. Under this administration, the U.S. has undermined global cooperation by withdrawing from international bodies like the WHO and the UN Human Rights Council, defunding UNRWA, sanctioning the ICC, and dramatically increasing tariffs. This panel will examine the second Trump administration’s interactions with states, international organizations, and other stakeholders, and evaluate its impact on international law in various areas, such as international criminal law and human rights law, including the potential effects these actions may have on the future of the international legal order.
