Sessions Description

  • Over the past several weeks, a growing number of states have been swept into a volatile redistricting arms race. The Supreme Court has dramatically restricted federal judicial oversight over gerrymandering and may do so again soon. So, eyes are increasingly turning to state courts and state constitutions. Panelists and participants in this session will explore this emerging, democratic crisis and how state constitutional law can serve as a vital democratic safeguard in an era of rising authoritarianism.
