    For too long, the burden of discussing race, power, and privilege—and how they intersect with the law—has fallen on clinical faculty. But as law schools consider how to incorporate discussions of race and equity throughout the law school curriculum, clinical faculty can provide their colleagues with much-needed guidance on having these important discussions in the doctrinal classroom. This session will be led by clinical faculty who also teach doctrinal courses. They will share how their clinical experience informs their podium teaching. The session will then encourage participants to brainstorm what lessons related to race and equity they wish their students would have before they join their clinic, and strategize on how those lessons can be folded into the broader law school curriculum. The session will also encourage participants to come up with ways to share the lessons that they learned with their home institution. By sharing the educational load when it comes to race, equity, and the law, law schools can help better prepare students to be conscientious, empathetic lawyers.
