The mandate to develop our students’ professional identities and educate them on racism (ABA Standards 303(b) and (c)) coincides with a rising authoritarianism and attacks on 'DEI'. What is our role as clinicians and law teachers in this climate? How can we use our roles as officers of the court and "public citizens with a special responsibility for the quality of justice" to protect the rule of law in this period? What can we learn from advocates who have resisted autocracy? In this session, panelists will share analyses, perspectives, strategies, and lead discussion on how we can organize in the current climate.
