At the Border and Beyond: California and the Evolving Workplace

This year's panel will use the location of the annual meeting as a springboard to discuss emerging issues in the contemporary workplace. California has often been at the forefront of employment law, and it remains so today, with its paid family leave, immigration issues, including successful labor organizing among immigrants, cutting edge intellectual property issues, health care reform efforts, living wage laws, and the hub of a substantial amount of class action litigation. The panelists will present their research against this rich backdrop and explore how these trends may reach far beyond California.
