This program discusses how law schools can educate non-licensed legal professionals in two areas: first, by providing various Master’s programs for students with no prior legal training (collectively, “MSLs”), and second, by training non-lawyers to provide limited legal services, much as nurse practitioners perform certain medical services instead of doctors. Two panelists will discuss the nuts and bolts of setting up in-person and online MSL programs. The other two panelists will describe Arizona’s new law that permits non-lawyers with certain training to provide limited legal services, and how the use of artificial intelligence may aid in providing limited legal services.
