AALS Sections are interest groups composed of members of the
faculty and professional staff of AALS member schools. (Others
who are interested may join as associate members of the section.)
These sections present programs at the AALS Annual Meeting,
provide newsletters for their membership, and conduct other
activities of interest to their members, such as mentoring
programs, exam exchanges, directories, and listservs.
Joining a Sections:
To have an AALS team member sign you up for one or more sections or unsubscribe you from one or more sections, please e-mail email@example.com.
Managing your Section Listserv Subscription:
You can manage your section subscription by clicking this link: Manage your subscription and entering your log in information to access the communication platform. In order to update the frequency of emails, click the pencil beside the section you want to update. There will be a dropdown of option from immediate email to a Full Digest once a day.
Removing a Section Listserv Subscription:
In order to remove yourself from a section, go to by clicking this link: Manage your subscription
and entering your log in information to access the communication platform. Once on this page, click the “x” next to the section you want to leave. Please note that Sections have both a discussion and announcement listserv. You will need to remove yourself from both listservs if you want to remove yourself from the section entirely. If you have questions or would like AALS to remove you from the section, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
and we will remove you within a week.
