Workshop for Pretenured Law School Teachers of Color

AALS would like to thank the Law School Admission Council for their generous grant in support of this workshop.

2015 NLT/POC Booklet

Why Attend?

Minority law teachers face special challenges in the legal academy, starting from their first day of teaching. At this workshop, participants will be able to share their experiences and concerns both with each other and with a roster of inspirational scholars and teachers. The sessions will focus on how these challenges arise in the context of scholarship, teaching, and service, as well as in the tenure process itself.

The workshop dovetails with the AALS Workshop for New Law School Teachers and provides additional opportunities for in-depth discussion. It should therefore be of great interest both to newly appointed professors of color as well as to junior professors who are navigating the tenure process.

Who Should Attend?

The workshop will be of interest to newly appointed law school teachers of color as well as junior professors who are navigating the tenure process.
