The role of law schools in educating legally-trained professionals and furthering democracy and the rule of law extends beyond the JD-trained lawyers and U.S. borders. Historically, at the majority of law schools, students outside the JD Program made up a very small part of the law school community. But that is changing with growing LLM and non-lawyer Master degree and certificate programs. This session present ways to leverage opportunities presented by these programs and students to expand access and diversify the legal community. Speakers will discuss ways in which law schools can minimize institutional barriers, such as in curriculum or resource allocation.
