    Advance ticket purchase is required for the field trip.  Priority is given to law school faculty and space is limited.  One ticket per registrant may be pre-purchased and, if space is available, tickets may be purchased on-site for spouses/significant others.

     

    The bus will board at 8:15 a.m. and depart from the Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel, at the side driveway of the hotel at the second set of glass entrance doors (right past the gift shop).


    The Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium (LUMCON) at Chauvin, Louisiana, 85 miles from New Orleans, is an educational and research center focusing on Louisiana’s marine and coastal environments. Participating public and private institutions include the multi-campuses of the Louisiana State University System (LSU), the University of Louisiana System, and the Southern University System, Centenary College, Dillard University, Louisiana College, Loyola University, Our Lady of Holy Cross College, Tulane University, and Xavier University.

     

    This field trip will explore the scientific issues involved with coastal zone erosion and restoration in Louisiana and the effects of the BP Oil Blowout on the Gulf environment.
