As leadership education for lawyers continues to grow, law schools are increasingly looking for ways to incorporate more anti-racist education into their programs. This program will focus on teaching leadership in law schools by incorporating anti-racist educational content and methods. The panel will explore possibilities for both stand-alone leadership courses and required courses (such as professional responsibility). The panel will also provide opportunities to introduce these valuable concepts to all students. The panel will address ways of reframing professional responsibility courses to include leadership development with an emphasis on equity, belonging, and cultural competency, and effective ways of including them in lawyer leadership courses.
The Section on Leadership will be holding a joint award ceremony with Pro Bono & Public Service Opportunities, Professional Responsibility, and Women in Legal Education on Saturday, January 8th at 2:00 - 3:00 pm Eastern.
