College sports have changed dramatically. In 2021, the Supreme Court held the NCAA could not limit member schools from providing certain compensation to student athletes. Alston ushered in a new era. The NCAA shifted its amateurism rules to allow student-athletes to receive financial benefit from their name, image, and likeness. With the expansion of sports gambling, a robust transfer portal permitting student athletes to change schools (once) generally with immediate athletic eligibility, and a patchwork of state NIL regulations, what lies ahead? This panel will discuss the future of NCAA intercollegiate sports and their governance in light of these changes.
