In this facilitated session, explore how lessons learned in the second grade can be used to enhance cultural competency. Through an exploration of blind spots, macroaggressions, and empathy, participants will learn tactics to combat implicit bias—the unconscious attitudes we all have that shape our decisions and actions—in the legal classroom and law practice.
Participants will engage in an interactive “brain break” using visualizations from a second-grade classroom. As a group, we will try to understand and identify our own use of implicit bias and engage in an interactive discussion.
