We have invited several members of the federal bench to speak on a variety of innovative approaches to these issues. Specifically, Judge Scheindlin will speak about the Southern District of New York's Pilot Project on Complex Civil Cases, Judge Young will speak about his productivity research regarding the proportion of judicial time spent on the bench, Judge Robinson will speak of innovative approaches from her role as Chair of the Court Administration and Case Management Committee of the Judicial Conference of the United States, and Magistrate Judge Bloom will speak about innovative uses of magistrate judges to respond to the increasing number of claims filed by pro se litigants. The panel will be moderated by Dean Diller, Cardozo Law School, who is involved in the Task Force to Expand Access to Civil Legal Services in New York.
