This session will review
the latest College Board-LSAC research examining whether and what environmental information is useful and relevant to a holistic law school admission review. Combining data from College Board, LSAC, and the National Center for Education Statistics, we generate and examine contextual measures that quantify the accumulated educational challenges, from high school through college, faced by students at the point of application to law school. The research investigates how undergraduate context mediates the relationship between an applicant’s pre-college neighborhood and high school environment and law school matriculation. Attendees will learn how this undergraduate context lens, when combined with the context of an applicant’s pre-college environment, can be leveraged as an equity-enhancing holistic input to law school admissions.
