Whether the issue is voting rights, gerrymandering, campaign finance, or regulating presidential elections, the Supreme Court has been at the center of many controversies regarding how our democracy functions. As the nation faces a uniquely tumultuous election year, the Court may find itself involved even more. Some of the nation’s leading Supreme Court advocates will discuss the nature of the Court’s jurisprudence surrounding the law of politics and what it’s like to argue before the Court about election-related topics. Former Solicitors General Paul D. Clement and Donald B. Verrilli, Jr., will describe their experiences appearing before the Court.
