Sessions Description

  • Lawyers experience exceptionally high rates of anxiety and depression, often leading to substance abuse and self-harm. These mental health problems begin in law school, where students face intense academic pressures and demanding professionalization processes. Despite growing awareness of these critical issues, coordinated wellbeing efforts remain surprisingly limited. This discussion group unites scholars and advocates using diverse research methods to improve student and lawyer wellbeing—from collecting empirical data and promoting policy advocacy to publishing scholarly solutions. The program aims to educate participants about wellbeing's importance and practical wellness techniques for all legal constituencies: students, faculty, staff, administrators, and legal practitioners.
