How should existing First Amendment doctrine apply to social media? Is it up to the task, when social media companies control so much news dissemination and when posts are immediately available to mass audiences? When are government “suggestions” prohibited censorship? May social media companies be required to correct misinformation or take steps to protect children? May the state prohibit "de-platforming" or viewpoint discrimination? What about section 230? May social media companies be regulated as “common carriers”? How might antitrust laws be applied? These and other issues may be addressed.
