    In light of the theme of the 2024 AALS Annual Meeting (Defending Democracy), the AALS Section on Law and the Humanities has organized a panel that will offer a variety of perspectives on democracy and the threat of fascism. Illustrative questions that will be addressed by the panelists include: How close is the U.S. to fascism? What role does law play in the rise of fascism? What can humanistic methodological approaches offer law and democracy?
     
    The Section held a virtual business meeting prior to the Annual Meeting.
