Sessions Description

  • This program will explore how the legal status, treatment, and rights of children have been shaped--sometimes profoundly--by the policies, practices, and political discourse of the Trump administration. From immigration and education to juvenile justice and healthcare, the Trump years have catalyzed a number of legal developments that could have lasting implications for how we conceptualize and protect children under the law. The program will interrogate the legal, social, and institutional challenges children face during this period, especially those that connect doctrine to lived experience or place these developments in historical, racial, or comparative context.
