Twin crises – the COVID-19 emergency and global demonstrations for racial justice – impact the legal academy in complex ways. This session will explore issues related to those crises through the lens of gender. The panel will explore the ways in which gender, in conjunction with other statuses, may advantage, disadvantage, or be rendered irrelevant in the way in which individuals lead; communicate; engage in shared governance; meet institutional financial challenges; balance scholarly productivity with care responsibilities; mentor or are mentored; attend to student needs; and create safe work environments that enable all stakeholders to flourish.
