This session takes the 60th anniversary of Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act--a major pillar of employment discrimination law--as an opportunity to take stock and look forward. How well is Title VII, as amended and interpreted over time, working? Is it accomplishing its goals and promises? Is it sufficiently adaptable to societal and technological changes? If not, why not? Is it perhaps time for a fresh start in protecting people's rights in the workplace? Panelists will bring their deep expertise on statutory interpretation, enforcement, AI, class, racial justice, legislative activism, and more to these and other questions.
