From climate change to immigration to gun violence, children and youth are often leading the movement for change. Despite having no right to vote and little economic power in the political arena, young people are increasingly pressing government and community leaders to address the existential challenges facing our world. This program explores the legal and regulatory framework around youth political participation. Speakers will address the benefits of youth participation (to both youth and their communities), the risks and challenges that youth face, and the opportunities for law and policy reform that can support young people's civic engagement.
