This panel will focus on several “forgotten” crises where major human rights violations have occurred, such as the Rohingya refugee crisis, the conflict in Tigray, and the ongoing violence in the Central African Republic. Panelists will discuss these situations to bring attention to the systemic, substantial human rights violations which have been occurring therein, and in order to highlight the selectivity of international law and international human rights law. The purpose of this panel is to shed light on these difficult situations and to underline the inherent selectivity and enforcement of international human rights law discourse.
