Fifteen days after this AALS meeting, Donald Trump will assume office, a development being closely watched in Kyiv and Moscow. The U.S. controls key elements of the war in Ukraine, including arms shipments, financial aid, NATO policy, sanctions against Russia, and frozen Russian assets—all of which the president can unilaterally alter. Our panel will explore what may happen to the war after Trump takes office, including the impact on NATO, implications for U.S. strategic priorities, and the effect of Trump’s decisions on the resilience of international law.
