As we approach the 60-year anniversary of the passage of the Voting Rights Act, this program takes stock of where the law stands, and considers what its future might be. Once the most impactful civil rights statute in American history, recent court decisions have significantly narrowed its scope, rendering it protective of only a limited range of racially discriminatory government actions. Please join us for a discussion about the current state of the Voting Rights Act, and what alternatives exist for fulfilling its promise.
