This program addresses the legal and policy implications of the emerging “Leave it in the Ground” movement. Should natural resources (e.g., oil, gas, minerals) be left in the ground either temporarily or permanently to address climate change concerns, protect species, preserve public lands, or achieve other environmental objectives? And if so, how should these goals be achieved? The speakers will present on works in progress chosen from a call for papers to members of AALS.

Papers from the program will be published in ELI's Environmental Law Reporter.

    Business meeting at program conclusion.
