Few of us enter academia with innate knowledge of how to connect to a classroom of students and how to foster an environment that encourages student participation and trust. In addition, minority teachers report more specialized challenges in the classroom stemming from classroom dynamics that are hard to spot and know how to address. In this workshop, experienced teachers will offer tips about how to plan and facilitate classroom teaching and how to be a more effective teacher, both inside and outside the classroom.
