The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Awards provide funding for academics and other professionals to spend up to a year in one of 135 other countries doing research, teaching, or a professional project. Clinicians have done Fulbright fellowships of all types in many different countries. In this Concurrent Session, panelists—all former fellows— will discuss their experiences doing Fulbright fellowships abroad and give advice for others who may wish to do the same. Other former Fulbright fellows will lead discussion groups to help participants brainstorm for their own proposals. Participants will leave the session with the tools they need to think about how they might turn their expertise into a Fulbright, and with a better understanding of the timeline and process for not only winning a fellowship but succeeding in their fellowships once they begin.
