The COVID pandemic laid bare what many in healthcare, and health insurance communities have known for a long time--i.e. that racial and socio economics disparities are substantial. The passage of the ACA was an important step toward expanding insurance coverage for millions of uninsured, but it has not reduced disparities in access to care and health outcomes. The panelists will explore ways in which current legal regimes governing the regulation of insurance, the structure of employer sponsored health plans, access to medical school education and increased support for community based health initiatives could be improved to increase health equity.

    Business meeting at program conclusion.
