In the fall of 2017, a team of researchers from Gallup fielded a
survey of undergraduate students and first-year law school students to gain
insights into the factors contributing to the decision to go to law school, or
not. The survey is the centerpiece of AALS’ Before
the JD project, the first national-level, multi-institution study to
investigate the present state of thinking among young people contemplating a
law degree and a career in the legal profession. Join our speakers from Gallup
as they share selected preliminary results from the study. This “sneak peek”
plenary session is exclusive for law school deans in advance of the release of
the full and complete results in the spring of 2018.
