Our goal for this discussion is to create an open dialogue on the emerging role of the clinical fellow in the experiential legal market, provide best practices based on our current or past experience as clinical fellows, and troubleshoot obstacles encountered – including both obstacles we have encountered, or ones shared by workshop participants.
Our panel is comprised of current and former clinical fellows to offer a personal perspective. The intended audience for this session includes anyone interested in hearing a first-hand account from clinical fellows: other current or former clinical fellows, clinical faculty running a clinical fellowship program or considering starting one, or clinical faculty supervising or considering hiring a clinical fellow.
Participants will walk away with concrete practices from each of our clinical programs that we have found to be successful and solutions to obstacles related to clinical fellowships that the larger group produces during the workshop itself. We intend to use real-time polling, hypotheticals based on personal experiences of the panelists, and breakout groups to make this an interactive session with robust conversation.
