This session will use small group discussions to explore how directors and experiential deans can serve as advocates for experiential education within our respective institutions and within the larger legal academy. Within our institutions: how do we support and expand the hiring of experiential faculty?; how do we advocate for security of position?; how do we advocate for additional funding?; how do we advocate for expanded experiential offerings? and how to we advocate for externships as part of the larger clinical community? As part of the larger legal academy: how do we capitalize on the momentum gained from 303(c) advocacy?; how can we expand upon the required number of experiential credit hours?; and how will regulatory and bar admission reform initiatives impact our roles?
