Criminal procedure professors have a plethora of casebook options and pedagogical approaches from which to choose, ranging from traditional offerings that emphasize U.S. Supreme Court decisions and constitutional doctrine to newer texts that emphasize, among other things, nonconstitutional rules, sociological dimensions of the criminal process, and race/class bias. Some of the new texts are also available free of charge or at low cost to students. This panel explores a variety of different casebooks and teaching materials covering both parts of the criminal procedure course: police investigation and adjudication.
